Bloody nineties, Orlický Gang: The murderer with a child's face plays in the new series Matouš Ruml, the police attribute him to another time barred murder - G.cz<

Eagle killers defied almost everything. They were the first to use lye in the Czech Republic to dispose of the bodies of victims. They also surprised criminal investigators with their callousness. They made a killing even when the prospect of profit was low. One of the investigators remarked that for the amount of people they killed, they made so little that they would have made more money if they had a bakery. But how did it all begin?

Guys from the gym

Karel Kopáč, referred to as the organizer of the gang, had known another accomplice, Vladimír Kuna, since childhood. Ludvík Černý, the hitman of the whole gang, was Kun's neighbor, they also went to the same gym, where they started making plans. Černý usually didn't exercise, he was mainly interested in solar power. Černý was the only one who had been punished in the past – in 1985 he was convicted of theft. During communism, he also made a living as a moneylender.

Broken thief

First action of the gang but it wasn't murder. They got a tip about a house in Germany that they could rob from their acquaintance from Jablonec, Milan Porada. They were a married couple living in the suburbs of Berlin. As Kopáč later noted, they were not an organized group, but an organized mess. The whole event turned out comically. Just before the mugging, the kicker hit his leg when he angrily kicked a car tire, limiting his mobility. The person who was supposed to ensure the safe progress of the entire event had his glasses fogged up because of the hood. He mistook treetops swaying in the wind for people with flashlights. He alerted everyone to run. While escaping over the fence, Černý should have torn his butt. It was he who suggested another way to get money after this anabasis...

The first murder

The first murder was committed against Aleš Katovský - a businessman whom Kopáč protected as a bodyguard . It is all the more reprehensible that the person he trusted absolutely led him into a murderous trap. Černý was supposed to be interested in currency exchange as an excuse to lure the businessman to a meeting. He was late for the meeting, and when Katovský learned that he had no money, he wanted to go back to Prague. Black asked if he could go with them. In the car, he carefully pulled out a gun. The kicker tried to tell him not to shoot. Late. Černý shot the businessman while they were driving downhill. They raced with a corpse behind the wheel in an out-of-control car. They got rid of the first corpse by wrapping it in mesh and throwing it into Orlík. As criminologist Jiřina Hofmanová said, they improved with each murder.

Another victim was the waiter Leorent Lipoveci, originally from Kosovo. The motive was probably not money, but revenge, they collected only 30,000 CZK from the whole event. He was supposed to have conflicts with Kopáčová's girlfriend. They lured him to Kuna's basement under the pretext of selling a machine gun, which Lipoveci was interested in. As he was leaning over the briefcase, Černý jumped up behind him and shot him in the head. Kun then thought of putting him in a barrel of lye. They tried it and sealed the barrel on the spot and threw it into Orlík. After the shooting, Černý noticed the shocked faces of his companions. To lighten the mood, he jumps in saying: "But I'm a foursome!" The gang then decided that the biggest money was in erotica - they decided to build their own club. They got a loan, built the foundations, but they started running out of funds. They had to resort to another murder. At Vladimír Kuna's request, they sent an explosive package to his mother, Anna Medková, who owned a sadomasochistic salon and made a living as a dominatrix. The explosion devastated her apartment and killed her. This crime earned the group 1.6 million CZK. The last murder was committed against the husband of Kopáč's sister, Jaroslav Meier. He didn't want to give them the house as a guarantee to the bank, for another loan for an erotic salon. So his wife ordered Kopáč, he didn't keep that promise, so she approached Černý. He willingly agreed and executed Meier with a machine gun in his own home.
