We didn't get married until we were in our thirties and pretty quickly agreed that neither of us wanted children. I know it's not that common, so I have to constantly explain to someone why I'm not pregnant. I was telling the truth in the beginning, but the reaction of others was so scary that I gave up and today I say that we just can't do it. I'm so calm. My husband and I simply decided that we wanted to enjoy ourselves and not take care of someone.

For the first five years, we were constantly traveling, making love, buying the best food, enjoying champagne on the beach and fixing up the old apartment. Of course, we were both building careers. It was perfect. But then my husband changed his position and started spending much more time at work. First the evenings together disappeared, then the weekends too.
