One of the most beautiful titles in world ballet literature takes place in distant and exotic India. It is a story of unrequited love, mental division and jealousy: the warrior Solor loves the temple dancer Nikia. However, he is forced by the Raja to marry his beautiful and rich daughter Gamzatti. In addition, Nikia is also secretly loved by the jealous high priest Brahmin. With Gamzatti, the Raja discovers Solor and Nikia's relationship and kills her when her daughter-in-law secretly hides a poisonous snake in a basket of flowers. Desperate, Solor tries to escape into intoxicating dreams and is reunited with his chosen Nikia in the famous scene of the Kingdom of Shadows. The Bajadéra ballet is a challenge for any mature company. It allows the virtuoso technical and acting skills of the soloists and choir to stand out. The spectacular stage and sumptuous costumes promise an exceptional audience experience that will be one of the highlights of the entire season. Bayadera is performed on the world's most famous stages. So far, it has only been performed twice in the Czech Republic, at the National Theater in Brno and Prague. During the performances of this truly ballet gem, the orchestra of the Moravian Theater will perform under the direction of conductor Petr Šumník.
