Dance: The Czech phenomenon is on the course, but with suitable clothes it is worse<

Etiquette expert Eva Filipová: Women love gentlemen, but they don't know what to do with it

According to some opinions, taking dance classes and mastering dance is part of general education. "It's part of our culture, part of our growing up. It's not just about dance, but also about the basic rules of behavior in society," said Jiří Plamínek from the Dance Teachers' Union of the Czech Republic.

According to Plamínek, interest in dancing is slightly on the rise and the ratio between the number of registered girls and boys is now roughly equal. "Students from gymnasiums, business academies and industrial schools come," added Jiří Plamínek.

Hands up!

For many young people, dances were an ordeal, but the social rules they learned are still remembered today. Whether it is the right clothes or the posture of the body when dancing, when the master's hand must never fall into socially unacceptable places.

A basic element of etiquette is appropriate clothing - for boys, a dark suit, tie or bow tie and dress shoes. Previously, white gloves were also part of the traditional ceremonial clothing, today they are no longer necessary, it depends on everyone, but young people who sweat more should think about getting them.

Dance: The Czech phenomenon is on course, but it's worse with suitable clothes

Girls have it a bit easier, they usually already own some suitable clothes. A short dress below the knees is suitable for dancing, and a long dress for an extended or final wreath.

First acquaintance with a suit

For boys, on the other hand, dances are often the first opportunity to buy a suit. It should not only be decent, but also comfortable. Research does not pay off in this case, the inferior material is often impermeable and the dancer sweats a lot on the dance floor.

Even a job interview has its own rules. Do you want to succeed? Leave these clothes at home

“I recommend a suit made of wool, which is breathable, pleasant to the body and absorbs sweat well. In addition, any wrinkles will even out on their own," advises Petra Koutná from the Koutný family clothing company and continues: "The length of the shirt sleeves is also often mistaken, they should be one centimeter longer than the jacket sleeve. The suit should fit perfectly. If the boys don't fit a ready-to-wear size, I recommend considering getting a tailored suit, which doesn't cost too much from a good ready-to-wear material."

The suit is complemented by high-quality leather formal shoes that prevent unpleasant bruises and blisters.

Watch out for dresses and heels

Shoes should not be underestimated even by girls. Although high heels are attractive at first glance, it must not be forgotten that girls spend dozens of hours on them while dancing, the appropriate height is three to four centimeters.

High heels are harmful to the joints. Experts recommend a maximum of four centimeters

A strap around the ankle is also recommended, thanks to which the shoes do not slip when moving.

The tight cut of the dress in combination with inelastic material is not suitable for free movement during dance creations, as well as a too deep neckline and a completely exposed back or a corset that can slide down - even though girls would like to show off their assets.

Therefore, A-line, looser cut and straps should stand out in the first place.
