German army tests uniforms for pregnant women

Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen (CDU) has given instructions for the army to start testing maternity clothes. Currently, 60 volunteers are trying on the maternity uniform.

They test not only comfort, but also the suitability of materials for various conditions. It seems that German female soldiers could actually expect them as early as next year. The uniform should be in two variants, for normal service and for field conditions.

20,000 women now serve in the Bundeswehr, of which 400 are now in a different status, Bild wrote.
