I do not know if we do not have it the other way around, that the circus is the foundation of the family, sometimes it blends.

How often with food, in your free time you talk about work?

At home at food?So when we all meet, we try not to open this topic.Recently, Rosťa has been trying to ensure that our free time and work do not mix so that we have some time for privacy.

But there is always something that is just pushing, something that is important to solve, and one of us won't open it.That is why our work with food is often with us, although it bothers sons.

In the past year and a half, however, it could have been different.Coronavirus almost stopped the operation of your family circus.Or am i wrong?

On the contrary, I think we did so much.Not for money, but we didn't stop.There were many beautiful things that our theater combined.Nobody left La Putyk in SRAB neither financially nor otherwise.

So I don't complain?

I don't complain.Maybe it's because Rosťa is such an enthrally.He tried not to panic so that we as a family, partners were fine ...

Otherwise, of course, financially the outage hit us, like everyone.We weren't alone in this situation.We have survived and perhaps survive, also thanks to the partners who helped us, and mainly because of the big theatrical-circus family that held incredibly together.

Didn't you really worry?

You know they had.Bad thoughts sometimes crawled into our heads.Nobody knew how long it would take, which no one knows even now.With Rosťa, however, we are lucky that we do not panic and in crisis situations we try to do anything so that they do not reach us.

You talk a lot about Rosťa's husband.How long are you together?

Over twenty years.We work together quite well, as I said, he is an exciting, I am again a sleeker, which I think our relationship is stable.And we are probably connected by the fact that we are chaotics, which we know, we work with it.

Your relationship brought you to the circus family.Did you have a desire to learn acrobatics?

Like I would hang somewhere on the rope?I wouldn't go.Although I like movement, I devoted myself to modern dance.I practice yoga and my top piece is the bridge.But I really leave pure acrobatics to others.This is one of the reasons why I devote myself to costumes and makeup since the very beginning.Before we founded La Putyka, I already had experience in that direction.

Now in September you are starting a brand new performance of the road to which you make costumes.What do they sew in advance?

Originally it was supposed to be played in O2 Universum, but the deadlines were constantly shifting due to the pandemic.In the end we had to move from the large hall to a more intimate big top.A total of 36 people in four separate scenes are on stage.

We need something around 120 costumes, which is not enough.It is an authorial project that is created organically and on the go ...

I will interrupt you - when were the costumes finished?

They were not fully completed at the end of August.So physically, sewn.They worked together about eight seamstresses, the animals were made by two artists, and it was teeming by people who all put the murderous pace so that the audience could come to see the finished piece.

When a project for stone theater or musicals is being prepared, the preparation is longer.There are deadlines, the terms I have to submit to the proposals, then everything is passed on to other professions.Again, you do not have too much the opportunity to intervene in the modifications.

Does the "structurally" you suggest for the circus? Is it somewhere reinforced?

They are based on elastic materials.Plus nothing should be too much to plague, nothing should be too long.Acrobats have to move well in costumes.

It seems to me that in this the circus is close to dancing: every kind of movement requires different details.In my designs, I have to think that the one who hangs on the rope rides from it needs to be reinforced in places.Finding similar needs requires some time, experience.

If everything in the preparation of the new performance runs ideally, we try costumes with acrobats together, what they (not) fit, what suits them.The most difficult for me is when one runs from one discipline to another, and his costume must work well, among other things, on the rope and to the ball, simply meet the conditions for more types of acrobatics.

The most important is the safety of acrobats, everything else is second.It is always necessary to keep someone in the costume hanging down even at twelve meters.

Similar costumes can be expensive.Do you have a principal at home, how often do you discuss with him to add to your budget?

(laughs) Almost every time.Not with Rosťa, but with the production that is in charge of this.Mostly they come to me with the budget of the whole performance.Of course, it always seems little to me.We then try to find a solution together.

Our performance is very different in terms of costume cost.For some we need almost no expenses, some are very expensive.We balance between the two poles.Among our mostovest performances are the roads.We address partners and use the pieces from the wardrobe we have.

How big is it?

It has rows of stands on which there are pieces that we can use at any time.It serves not only for theater, but also for television shooting, which we are doing.I try to have an overview with my colleagues, to orient myself in where what is so that I can use the costumes quickly, or to finish them.We think about their recycling practically constantly.

We try not to lie at the slaughterhouse78 unnecessarily, we do not throw away much.Each piece may be useful once, and our fundus originally originated because we were shooting a movie.

How far are you?

This is more of a question for Rosťa, I would say in the beginning.The idea originated many years ago, sometimes with the performance UP End Down.Since then, it has changed a lot.Meanwhile, our other projects are postponed.But one day we will certainly make the movie.

Can you even sew any pieces into a certain project?

This statement would be daring.Although I can sew something, adjust, but it is not really to make all costumes for the show.There is no time for it, so we have seamstresses that work for us and are incredibly fast and handy.

From Prague's Holešovice, where you are located, it is not far to Karlín, where you made costumes for the musical Legend Holmes.You can work with Lenka Dusilová in the video clips.Does it connect these projects?

I am hired by people looking for “something strange”.Perhaps rather another, unconventional, interesting.As if they were especially appreciated by those who need to get movement, a lot of movement and love for dancing.Last time we did a clip for the PSH group.

You have three sons.Circus, sport include injuries.Who usually carries boys to the hospital in your home?

The one who is at home.Sometimes there is nothing to wait for when the hand hangs at a different angle than it should.Only the middle son Matyáš is devoted to top sports, doing trampolines.The older son studies music production and composition in Britain, the youngest is still in elementary school, tend to acting, dance breaks.

Can you look at your son Matthias in peace when he flies through the air?

I feel that I have it worse year after year.At the beginning I had nerves in his pieces, now I thumb with them.I think more about what can happen.I'm just afraid faster.Which may have come with the fact that he first forbade us to go to trainings, races, ashamed.Then Covid came, no one but athletes was allowed to train, there were no races.So we had no idea what they could do for a long time.

Now we can see a lot, participating in large races in the Czech Republic and abroad.And sometimes the boys jump from the rock to the water, just for pleasure.At that moment I am afraid, simply like any mom to make them go well and nothing happened to them.

Never will never sound from you in advance: Don't do it!?

Will sound.But it's unnecessary, they already have their heads.I have been trying to trust them since I was young.They are very talented, which I know, but it still does not calm me.Matthias have been preparing for the Olympics for years, which will be in Paris in 2024.

The youngest son Simon now performs in our latest and so far the biggest performance of the journey that we play in Asylum78 in Stromovka.Adrenaline and life on the edge just belong to our family.

Your three sons were also the reason you are starting a clothing mark.Didn't they choose clothes in the stores that you want to sew them?

Just that they chose.But as they grew, they wanted us more and more expensive and more expensive things.And somehow I didn't see the meaning for them to make this money.I found it more interesting to create something we like together, and we put a piece of ourselves.So the idea of your own brand was born.

How does it tread?

We started with T -shirts for La Putyka with clown motif.They were painted by Rosťa.So far we have white and black and other colors will follow.Substances are bought, we have ideas too.Now just find the time to realize.It looks like they have a success with both friends and people who are not exactly circus fans, for which I am glad ...

Do they appreciate how you dress?Me too.

No, they often like how I dress.I try to look stylish when going somewhere.I like to prepare him bags, t -shirts, pants to make him suit him.And when people flattered him as good, I'm happy.

It must represent the business.Currently, Cirk La Putyka has two scenes: at the aforementioned slaughterhouse78 in Holešovice and a little further, at the Exhibition Grounds, stands asyl78.Why do you have two in this uncertainty?

The original idea of its own big top came due to the planned reconstruction of the stone theater in Prague's market, which has not yet taken place, because we were all attacked by Covid and everything has been moved.

The tent made to measure is a dream come true for all and the opportunity to play outside in the middle of nature is a little more similar to the atmosphere of old nomadic times.

The functioning of the big top is associated with the weather.It is nice in summer.Can you go to the mines?

Yes, sure.We are thinking about this with Rosťa.We have to have a day off for the family, it belongs to us.And as long as the sons still want to go with us, we have to use it.This year we managed the mountains, the sea and the road to Denmark.

But we take into account the boys' age, leave them free space during the holidays, weeks that they can fill according to their wishes.

Does it still occur to me, does a family go with your family heritage to a classic circus?

We walk occasionally, although I did not want to do so much with animals.In its beginnings, the traditional circus, in addition to acrobatics, served as such a mobile zoo.Which at that time was the only way to meet exotic animals.

I tend to the new circus with my heart.Because of the people who do it, because of the viewers who go to him.In addition, our La Putyka is really different from the classic new circus.There is no top acrobatic number after another.He deliberately combines circus and theater and has his own charm and magic.

We were all alone, we had to learn a lot to get to where we are now.Try to buy a ticket and you will see that you can not resist this atmosphere.
