Period displays in the acropolis of the Chotebuz Archeological Park reminded people of the arrival of Cyril and Methodius<

A celebration of the former arrival of Cyril and Methodius took place in the Chotěbuz Archeopark over the weekend. Examples from the life of the time and a short story about the arrival of the heralds were prepared for the visitors.

It is actually a celebration of the feast of the arrival of the heralds Cyril and Methodius. A rich program is prepared for the visitors, on the one hand, together with a group of historical swordsmen, they will go back to the early Middle Ages, where they will actually watch the scene When the sun was a god and gradually learn a little about trade, about how it was fought, about the how they ate, or what they ate, and also which gods they worshipped." The acropolis of the archeopark was opened to the public again after the reconstruction

Jiří Václavínek, chairman of the Tizon Association of History and Fencing: "We have various locations where we try to show visitors scenes from the life of the time. So, on the one hand, here we can see a station about weapons, where colleagues give an explanation about the Slavic weapons and armor of that time. After that, the visitor can move to, for example, the food station, where we have plants that are archaeologically preserved, and at the same time, it is possible to see ceramics and dishes of that time. Well, they talk about how they processed the food afterwards. After that, the audience can move to the station about the clothing of the time, where we have hand-dyed wool, at the same time different clothes made of wool, linen, hemp, nettle, and there is also a pottery that shows how ceramics were created. They also talk about the religious ideas of the time. Here we have replicas of archaeological finds of deities throughout the Slavic territory and various cult objects. Then the colleagues here show everyday items and various toys, musical instruments. We have here a collection of hunted game or furs of that time. At the same time, visitors can shoot with a bow, and during the program we also show a skit called When the sun was a god, which is a kind of historical farce where we show the oldest legends and rumors and at the same time how Christianity came here and how the people struggled.
