We observed men on the street: they lack style, but there are exceptions<

Stopping in the middle of the city and watching the passers-by can be a lot of fun. But don't look for inspiration in dressing, you won't find it. Although many world designers are inspired by the people on the street, the Czech ones really have nothing to envy. It is not possible to get ideas here, but you will see many frightening examples at every step. Men lack style, but there are also exceptions that prove the rule.

Forgotten style from the early 90s, trousers à la cleaning service, shapeless jackets of strange colors and totally boring suits without a hint of originality, this is how you can briefly describe the "fashionable" creations that are most often appear in the streets.

The almost total absence of suitable fashion accessories and nice shoes does not improve the situation in any way, quite the opposite. The main direction that can be noticed is grayness, total fusion with the crowd, especially not to be seen too much and certainly not to deviate. Do Czech men lack self-confidence? You can't complain about the lack of shops and their offers these days. So where is the imaginary buried dog?

At the same time, really little is enough: focus on the right cuts and lengths, buy quality shoes and a bag, and stop being afraid of colors and accessories in the form of hats, stylish scarves, high-quality and imaginative ties, and pay attention to details.

Famous fashion brands such as Burberry, Gucci, Ermenegildo Zegna, Hardy Amies, Ozwald Boateng and others can become inspirations. Of course, you don't have to immediately run to luxury boutiques and spend the entire family budget. Just watch what is currently being worn and don't be afraid to copy men on the catwalk or on advertising billboards.

With fashion editor Veronika, we went on a more detailed exploration of the streets of Prague. And the result? As I expected: boring, wherever you look. A few minor exceptions, we really had a very hard time looking for and waited in vain for fancy clothes, inspiring outfits, something that would convince us that things are not as bad with men as we thought. But after almost two hours in slightly freezing weather, we gave up with sadness on our faces.

Tie ties

Tie-wearers, or men in suits and ties, belong to a large group. Between the numbers and stock, they seem to have forgotten that there are colors other than black, gray and navy. Of course, extravagance and significant experiments do not fit into the conservative environment of banks and offices, but no one forbids a little imagination.

A silk tie in bright tones of crimson, emerald, orange, yellow, green or purple will liven up any suit in a minute. A white tie on a white shirt and black on black will also make a great impression. A very common problem is an ill-fitting coat, which is also shorter than the jacket underneath. Be really careful, the wrong length can ruin the overall impression.

Forgotten in Time

Looks à la money changer, strange combinations of old-fashioned cuts made of leather and denim, very strange jackets that you can remember from the Vietnamese markets of the first half of the 90s, are still a very common phenomenon on the streets.

The people in question act as if they have forgotten what year it is, and actually have no idea about the change of the millennium. Although retro is one of the popular fashion trends, some clothes should never be taken out of the closet!

Confused Youth

One would expect that the younger generation would know much more about fashion trends than their fathers, but even here everything is not completely ideal. However, we have to admit that we discovered the most fashion gadgets in this category. Frequent mistakes include a strange mix of styles and, above all, completely ill-fitting clothes and, as with the older generation, very bad shoes.

They pleased us

Despite the very large crowd of passers-by, we saw only a few interestingly and decently dressed men. What made them so different? Above all, the attention to detail, the fearless use of fashion accessories and the courage to wear colors other than just khaki, gray and brown.

The man knows his stuff. The hot fashion trend of chunky sweaters has been perfected. Leather patches on the sleeves, a long scarf matching the sweater and shoes, well-fitting jeans in the right length look very stylish. There is really nothing to complain about.

Skinny jeans only for women? Nonsense, if a man has nice legs, he should not be ashamed of them and show off. With this young man, you can learn about the power of simplicity, consisting in fitting proportions and lengths of trousers and a top that accentuates the figure. He gets extra points thanks to the perfectly matched shoes with the knitted hems of the jacket.

A slightly different sports style. The young man demonstrates that boredom does not necessarily reign in men's wardrobes and that even sportswear can attract attention in the right sense. Color blocks are among other current fashion trends, and it is with pleasure that in the domestic latitudes there are gentlemen who are not afraid of colors and a little extravagance.

Velvet jackets were popularized by the designer Tom Ford at the beginning of the millennium, his men's collections for the Gucci brand were full of them. Dark purple satin on a simple jacket in combination with a coral T-shirt looks very good and perfectly emphasizes the face of its wearer. In addition, this man matched the color of his pants with his shoes, which optically lengthens his legs (the trick also works on women). A stylish silk scarf would complete the overall look even more.

Fancy details

This young man really caught our attention. First, the yellow color blocks on the jacket, which wouldn't mean anything interesting, but the checkered cap is the real gem. As you can see, age does not matter, others can learn even from school-aged children.

At first glance, the young man gives the impression that he has absolutely no interest in fashion, but he did not escape our watchful eye. Note the color of the shoelaces and the T-shirt peeking out from under the jacket. We also applaud the cut of the trousers and the hairstyle.

This young man has shown a perfect eye for color, soft tones of beige and cool brown match his hair perfectly. A shining example that even with very light skin, you don't have to give up light colors.
