“Tom and I were laughing under the masks because we had a problem if we were going to wave or not. I rather enjoyed it and was happy. I was touched the day before when I found out it was me. That took me," Kvitová admitted.

Then she boasted on Twitter that she will never forget Friday. "Words cannot express how much I enjoyed today. It has always been an honor for me to represent and to carry the flag only enhanced it. I will always remember it. Even the mask couldn't hide the smile I had all this time. Thank you for being there with me," the Czech tennis player wrote.

"It was quite an experience. I have to say that I did not expect how spectacular it is. It's a bit of a shame that they couldn't be fans, because you would have felt the atmosphere more, but it was an experience that I enjoyed and it was an honor," Tomáš Satoranský added to Kvitova.
