Pilsen, the fourth largest city, has a new mayor. Technical deputy and well-known lawyer Pavel Šindelář (ODS) replaced his party colleague and the new Minister of Culture Martin Baxa as mayor. On Monday, at a meeting of the city...

Veronika Jilichová Nová's priority as a member of the RMP will be to systematically present the city and its services and identify the current needs of citizens. "I will responsibly and with pleasure fulfill the task of presenting the city of Pilsen and creating city marketing," she said. According to her, the city of Pilsen is a good brand representing the result of the efforts of past and present generations. “This is a city that works, serves and inspires,” she said. According to her, the basic infrastructure of the city must function reliably without us thinking about it.

Major changes have occurred in the management of Pilsen. City has a new mayor, his deputy and a new member of the city council

"In the last two years, the covid pandemic has affected and significantly limited our lives. We often have to adapt to new conditions, it is not easy to plan anything. That is why we need a solid and functional background, but also joy and inspiration. We spend most of our time at home in our city. We have a chance to get to know it in detail and use everything interesting and available that the city has to offer. Parks, sports grounds, libraries, galleries, museums and, last but not least, great performances by cultural institutions. Pilsen is a modern city full of activities. Pilsen inspires," said Veronika Jilichová Nová.

According to the new councilor, a functional city must also be able to perceive current and new needs. "This is also the task of city marketing. Let's not confuse marketing with mere advertising. Marketing is about communication, identifying needs, satisfying them and presenting the services that the city offers," added Veronika Jilichová Nová. An important concrete task of the new councilor will also be the preparation of the Celebration of Freedom, which, after a forced two-year lull due to the pandemic, deserves increased care in preparation and implementation.

The new Pilsen councilor is a supporter of children's vaccination against covid-19

Professionally, doctor Veronika Jilichová is a new supporter of children's vaccination against covid-19. She was the first doctor in Pilsen to start vaccinating the youngest children in her office. According to the doctor, the reasons for vaccinating even small children are clear. To avoid a serious course of the disease. "We know that the disease is usually mild in children, but we need to pay attention to the fact that approximately one in a thousand children can have a severe or life-threatening course of the disease," explained the doctor.

"Unfortunately, there is a widespread opinion in society that it is better to experience the disease than to get vaccinated. I find that perverse. After all, we want to prevent any disease. Vaccination is the main prevention tool. A tool to prevent the serious course of the disease. That's why it makes sense to vaccinate. It applies to all generations," said the doctor, adding that, in her opinion, vaccination is safe even for a five-year-old child. The vaccine is adapted and tested for children aged 5 to 11 years. It contains only one-third the amount of antigen than the adult vaccine.
