Enrollment in schools is approaching. The biggest fight will be for language and math classes<

They have been calling and writing since September. In January, they are even more eager, they want specific information and they ask: When should we come to line?

"I always tell our parents that we can't estimate it," said Milena Walderová, director of General Zdeněk Škarvada's Primary School in Ostrava-Poruba, which is one of the most popular schools in the Moravian-Silesian Region. He has a good reputation, language classes, native speakers. Parents come to the minutes in advance, they used to spend the night in front of the school.

"We will open three classes next school year. One bilingual and two language. We accept about eighty children. 110 came last year, so we couldn't take them all. They also come to us from other parts of Ostrava, also from Hlučín, Studénka or Dolní and Horní Lhota, “Walderová mentioned. The school organizes enrollment on Thursday, January 15 from 9 a.m. It will be attended not only by the teacher, but also by a psychologist and a speech therapist.

"Children should be able to recognize colors, directions, basic shapes, animals. We take children who have a language sense and are communicative into the bilingual class. They must enjoy teaching, they must look forward to it. If they react cumbersome, we will recommend parents to choose a school that will be less demanding for their child, "the principal described. This year, approximately fourteen thousand children could attend enrollment in the region, just like last year. In recent years, there has also been great interest in the Engliš Elementary School and the Otická Elementary School. Both are in Opava and registrations take place in them on January 16 and 17.

"Last year the parents did not sleep here, but they arrived very early, around five in the morning," said Jiří Kupčík, director of the Otická Primary School. The school will accept fifty children in two classes.

"Whoever wants to come to us must come on time. Unfortunately, there is no other criterion. The order decides and if the child has siblings at school, so that we can meet the needs of parents, "Kupčík remarked.

The mathematical laboratory also attracts

Krnov is divided into school districts, which should be followed, but parents can of course choose the school. "The greatest interest on the part of parents in recent years is in the primary school on Janáček Square," said Krnov spokeswoman Dita Círová.

The school boasts a novelty - a mobile mathematics laboratory. Individual stations can be transferred, children will also play outside with them. It is full of cubes, fractions that can be expressed in three-dimensional shapes, geometric bodies into which they can fill with water, measure the content, and remove the packaging of individual parts.

"We used to be a school with extended mathematics lessons, but from next year we will give space to all children. Math classes are optional. It does not seem appropriate for us to select children, "said school principal Karel Handlíř. "People from school districts are sure, the children will come to us. We open three classes every year, a maximum of ninety children. "

In Karviná, most children enrolled at Dělnická last year, where the principal set the maximum number of children at ninety for the next school year and also the enrollment criteria, because the school would no longer have enough capacity.

The most popular schools in Frýdek-Místek are in Eliška Krásnohorská and Československá armády streets.

And in the case of primary schools established by Bruntál and Nový Jičín, the interest is almost the same everywhere. "On average, the number of children in the first years ranges from 18 to 25 pupils," added Bruntál spokesman Jiří Ondrášek.
