"Doubles" at the beginning of the year attract betrothed, interest in weddings in Přerov has increased<

Last year, more couples got married in Přerov than in the previous year - in 2021, the city arranged 143 ceremonies, while in 2020 there were 125.

The newlyweds were most interested in getting married in the ceremonial hall of the Přerov castle. But the betrothed also chose other places - seven marriages took place in Michalov Park, three in the garden of the U Aničky restaurant, one in the sports complex in Kozlovice and one in Věžky. Two couples decided to get married in Víkleky.

"An unusual place for the beginning of their life together was also chosen by newlyweds who wanted to get married in a gazebo in the middle of a pond in Tučín. We complied with them," recalled Marta Dostalová.

Three kings hit the streets of Přerov, this is what it looked like

Already in September, the councilors approved forty-four official dates and wedding venues for 2022 - in Přerov, they are the castle hall at Horní náměstí 1 and the city park Michalov.

"The dates of the weddings were chosen in such a way that there would be no collision with the planned events in the given places, and the engaged and wedding guests would not have to face any problems because of this. We know, for example, that damp masonry in the courtyard and in the basement of the castle is to be rehabilitated this year - we have been promised that the works should be timed between ceremonies so that they do not affect weddings on the approved dates," added Jitka Kočicová from the Přerov Municipality.

According to her, about ten couples want to get married every year outside of the set days, and they will find other places within the administrative district where they will say their "yes".

"In Přerov, whoever wants to get married at the castle does not pay any fee - in all other places, the betrothed will pay one thousand crowns," added registrar Marta Dostalová.

Even though the number of marriages increased slightly last year, they still cannot be compared to the situation twenty or more years ago, when up to three hundred couples a year normally got married in Přerov.
