"The high increase in the number of deaths was closely linked to the coronavirus situation in the country," said Petra Dolejšová from the CZSO regional administration in České Budějovice. The highest mortality was in the districts of Písek and Strakonice, the lowest in the České Budějovice region. Infant mortality in the region was lower than the national average.

More than five thousand people immigrated

Most children in the region were born in the České Budějovice region, namely 1,663, which is 22 less than last year. At the same time, however, the most people died in the České Budějovice region - 1715. Both of these data are influenced by the fact that the most people in the region live in the České Budějovice region, with 196,848 inhabitants.

From January to September, 5,462 people immigrated to the South Bohemian Region, 4,904 left. Positive values ​​of migration were recorded by statisticians in all districts except Český Krumlov. 2,149 people immigrated from abroad to the region and 1,674 inhabitants moved abroad.

People in southern Bohemia also entered marriage more often than divorced in the first three quarters. In this period, 2,253 couples entered into marriage, 995 of them divorced. 30.7 percent of divorces ended at the suggestion of a woman and 51.1 percent at the joint petition. "The divorce rate was slightly higher than the national average, and the South Bohemian Region ranked the fourth highest position in the interregional comparison," the CZSO said. Of all divorced marriages, there were 611 with minor children.
