And what savings on income tax can be achieved? "It's a good idea to take advantage of the discount whenever there's an opportunity," explains tax advisor Gabriela Ivanco.

If one of the spouses does not have an annual discretionary income of more than 68,000 crowns, the other can claim a discount for the wife (husband) in the annual tax settlement or tax return for 2021.

The annual discount in this case amounts to 24,840 crowns. If the wife or husband holds a ZTP/P card, then the tax discount is twice as high. However, the spouse discount has no effect on the calculation of social and health insurance.
