"At a time when prices are rising and money for cloths is running out, swapping, as the exchange is called, is a great way to enjoy yourself," Gabriela remarked as she pulled a giant bag of hangers out of the car. While preparing the swap, which she organizes in various cities of the region, the mother of two children sweats a lot.
Rent premises, send out invitations, prepare clothing racks. "I sew the things that remain onto new ones. The shirt turns into a dress, two sweatshirts into one, I apply our appliqué on the hole or color a piece and the original is born," added Gabriela. Swapping is becoming at least as popular as traditional clothing exchanges. The difference is precisely that in a swap it is exchanged, it is sold on the stock exchange.
Basically, however, things should be brought to the swap in such a condition that they could easily be given as a gift to a best friend. Whoever brings something for exchange pays one hundred, whoever arrives empty-handed pays two hundred. Everyone can then take as many things as they want.
The friendly environment, where people not only enjoy themselves, but also relax over coffee, is not avoided even by the opposite sex. "Once I was attracted to a man who was choosing at the women's racks. I showed him that the men's was on the other side. He surprised me. He replied that he knew, but that he was choosing for his wife," Gabka mentioned.
As the swaps often take place on the premises of the restaurant, comical situations sometimes occur. In the heat of selection, people also travel to the hangers where the coats and jackets of the new arrivals hang.
"My husband was with me and then we noticed how the gentleman was trying on his jacket with interest," laughed swapper Lucie.
