Jiří H. from Otrokovice suffers from paranoid schizophrenia. Last November 13, he stabbed an innocent man (†40) in the Jižní Svahy housing estate in Zlín. He believed he was the leader of a sect that controlled his life. The regional court in Zlín sent him to a detention center today.
Jiří H. confessed to the crime and regretted it. If convicted of murder, he could face up to 20 years in prison. The police said shortly after the crime that the killer went to the housing estate to kill. In Otrokovice, he boarded a trolleybus and waited for his victim, who previously lived in the same part of town as the accused, in front of her apartment. Once the man entered the house, he verbally and physically assaulted him. He punched him, slapped him and pushed him further into the corridor of the house.
The victim defended himself and tried to calm the offender down. But the attacker pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the chest. The perpetrator then left the scene, the stabbed man died on the porch of the house. The police arrested the murderer only after several days. Regarding his motive, she said that the attacker was convinced that he had stabbed the leader of a sect that was influencing his life. The attacker said today that he stabbed the man because he saw him all around him. According to him, the man is still alive.
