The most beautiful girl I know - iDNES.cz<

At Christmas, jealousy definitely overcame me, because I got rocking cocks under the tree. They were bigger and prettier than all the pacifiers and rattles that Santa Claus had brought to her. So there was nothing to stop me from liking my sister. Although she massacred toys and scribbled books on me, I soon could not imagine life without her.

Dana Emingerová

This journalist and writer has just published her fourth book, Gentle Tigress, with collages by David Vávra's "cellarman", which also contains some feuilletons from ONY. She will be christened on April 26 at the Dobeška Theater in Prague with the musical accompaniment of her sister Eva Emingerová's jazz quartet.

But just as a swan grew out of an ugly duck in a fairy tale, in our family, the most beautiful girl I know has emerged from my sister. Even though she puts on a gray bag and puts a turf of grass on her head, she still looks great. In addition, the judges gave her an extraordinary sporting talent, absolute musical hearing and a divine voice. And now grow up next to such a sister!

So at least I was diligent. While Eva refused to learn music, I played the piano and guitar as a virtuoso. Of course I was excited. But I remembered all the campfire songs, as well as the piano etudes. I never drove our dad insane while claiming that the F major scale precedes the twelve crosses. Or that the A-maj chord is probably only played in May.

But the sister had no idea, because she was younger than me, that she was actually better at everything. That's why she kept trying to catch up with me. And what I blackmailed, she learned quite naturally. She sang songs by the campfire in a second voice, still confusing me terribly. She played my piano etudes by ear from memory. And when I signed up for volleyball, she started playing it too and immediately became the best player of younger students, later juniors, and finally she made it to the national team and the professional German league.

And not only that. To this day, he holds the student record of the Vyšehrad Olympics in the cricket throw. Each time she won a cross-country run in Senohraby and once - she was about six - she defeated all the boys in jumping on the children's ski jump under the name Eminger Ev. In the end, she overtook me in marriage and in the number of offspring, so I again had to do something to catch up, which I finally managed to do with abraded ears and all my might. We both have three children.

The only thing the sister didn't do very well was grammar and writing. So I figured I could be a writer. I didn't want to catch up on at least one thing. I even cleverly offered to write style assignments for her for her. And because I had twice as many first-time mortals as ordinary mortals, I passed the journalism exams and immediately after school I became a reporter for the once popular Young World magazine.

Dad and Mom were happy for us. Some acquaintances kept telling them that they were watching my reports. Or that they read about Eva winning a medal at the European Championships. And also that she won the title of volleyball Miss Europe. The girls from the team did not talk to her, but the sister quickly reconciled them. She took a guitar that no other player could play, and unwrapped it at the victory party, with newspapers in Prague writing about the playful life of volleyball players and the moral mud that surrounds our national team. But the girls were just singing for a long time after dinner. Only after midnight did the sisters forgive her for being the most beautiful volleyball player in Europe.

But I understand them, because at least I found the writings in which I'm much better than she is. But what did her teammates have on her?

After all, Eva put the same stone on the smash as everyone else…

Eva once told me that she had met my mother's old friend. She rushed to her with a beaming smile. "Hello, are you the smart journalist?" Her sister replied, "No, I'm the stupid volleyball player." Then she told me she had had enough to keep talking about her just because she had a biceps in her head.

Shortly afterwards, she escaped as a jazz singer from a volleyball court to the boards that signify the world, and today she travels around the globe with swing, dixieland and jazz. And most of the time, in every distant country, they are invited to a beach volleyball for a while, during which they knock out some local celebrities.

For example, she played this with our hockey legend Dominik Hašek. For letting me play at least one hundred with him, I promised her this volleyball column.
