We'll just go for a walk in 20 people. Kindergartens know how to get around regulations<

Article

From Monday, only preschoolers will go to kindergartens, with a maximum of fifteen children. From the same day, gatherings of ten people in a room and twenty outside are allowed. Smaller kindergartens, such as forest or private ones, therefore do not understand why even younger children in such a limited number should not be able to go to kindergarten.

"We don't understand it at all," says a representative of the private nursery, who did not want to be named. "We are a private kindergarten and we only have 12 children for two teachers in each class. It is terribly disadvantageous for us to open only for preschoolers. Out of twelve children, it's about seven of them," he explains.

“Of course parents also complain. They are very busy with work and need the children to go to kindergarten," he continues. So they came up with another solution in the kindergarten, which is in line with the measures and which will at least partially relieve the parents of younger children.

A walk in twenty people

"Since it is allowed to gather outside in groups of twenty people, we plan to simply meet at our place in front of the playground and go to the park for two hours. It will also concern the younger children," explains the kindergarten representative. "At least for a while, we accommodate the parents so they can function," he continues. In such a case, according to her, a test is not required.

Even the director of Forest Kindergarten in Venka, Karolína Kostínková, does not agree with the regime of only preschool children. "I absolutely do not agree with that. It is incomprehensible. I even asked the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education for an exception so that we could function normally even with younger children," explains Kostínková. "We have 11 children in our kindergarten, and half of them are preschoolers. It is economically disadvantageous to open only for them," he continues.

On Monday, amateur athletes can return to training. Or not?

"I also agreed with the regional hygiene station on some procedure and they support us, but they do not have the authority to allow it," explains Kostínková.

“Someone from the ministry even called me and asked what I was referring to. Of course, I argued that our statistics are good. We haven't been in quarantine even once since last year. Plus, it's safe for us because we spend most of our time outside. We have a large garden and close cooperation with parents," Kostínková defends herself. She doesn't see the point in opening a kindergarten only for pre-school children when, according to her, everything is safe.

She applied for an exemption on March 29, and this Thursday afternoon the Ministry of Education replied that it will not grant an exemption to forest nurseries, and the same rules apply to them as to other nurseries.

She herself then admits that there are ways to circumvent the regulation. “Of course the other thing is that it can be worked around unofficially. A so-called forest club can work, which is an unofficial group of children, and at that moment it could work because ten people are allowed in a room," he explains to Seznam Zprávy. "However, we would not like to circumvent the law," he says.

Not even parents like the regulation

Not even parents like the regulation to separate preschoolers and younger children, both representatives of kindergartens agree. This is also proven by the e-mail that the mother of the children, Anna Karasová, addressed to the government and subsequently provided to the editors of Seznam Zpráv.

"From next week, it is said that ten people can gather inside, so I have arranged for nine younger kindergarten children to be looked after by a nanny at home, right next to the kindergarten. In the afternoon, their parents will pick them up and they will go to the playground next to the kindergarten, where they will play with preschoolers from the same class. I am still waiting for your answer, where you will explain why this is an epidemiologically better option than having all these children in the same class. No one will test these nine children,” the email begins, implying that this is meant as an exaggeration.

"Government and dear epidemiologists, the public is waiting for an explanation of what mass babysitting is all about in large groups without testing, epidemiologically better than completely open kindergartens with testing," continues Karasová. “My children are already looking forward to seeing their preschool friends at their favorite playground to hug them after such a long time. Any number of children can meet in front of the kindergarten gate, because the coronavirus is apparently only inside the kindergarten building," concludes Karasová's e-mail.

According to Hana Stýblová, director of elementary and kindergarten in Pilsen, it is good that younger children will not be attending kindergarten for the time being. According to her, it can change in a fortnight. “Then who will you choose to walk? I think it's just like this now, and if it's only for a fortnight, then only good," Stýblová told Seznam Zprávám.
