Andrea Pomeje: I had to wait, suffer and endure one of the biggest wrongs in my life for a long time<

The ancient philosopher Epictetus once said that "there is only one way to happiness, and that is to stop worrying about what is beyond our power." It fits perfectly on Andrej Pomei. Despite many things, she had to transfer and bite them. "I had to wait, suffer and endure one of the biggest wrongs in my life for a long time," says the beautiful DJ.

Today, he is finally living his fairy tale. Even though it's actually something that bothers her and her partner - swallows who have loved their new house so much that they don't want to move. Not only did we talk about that in our conversation.

How did you and your partner settle in the new house? I think that even though we haven't finished everything yet, we moved in very quickly. I grew up in a village, then lived in Prague for eleven years and now I really enjoy returning to nature.

What about swallows, okay? I imagine your muscular partner fighting those little birds ... Swallows are a big problem. Probably if we don't have a new house, we don't deal with it that much, or rather my partner who fights with them every year. And yes, it's really funny, I'm already looking forward to spring.

Where did you two actually meet? We wrote to each other via Instagram, for a long time, we understood each other, but I didn't make it to the meeting. We met after about a month and it was very nice ... We've been together every day since that day. Which is over 3 years.

How did you deal with the coronavirus pandemic and especially the locdown? It was a difficult period, I won't lie. I lost my job as one of the first and it was a long time. I didn't do it mentally well at all. On the other hand, I had room to settle things within myself, so I'm much more balanced now.

How does it happen to become an internationally recognized DJ? Is it easier for a woman than a man? Djing is still more of a male profession, although it may seem that the number of women behind the mix has been increasing lately, there are still not many women in those top positions. Thanks to that uniqueness, it may be easier for women to assert themselves, but they don't have it easy on the music scene at all. I had to play a lot, a lot to prove that I have a skill and I'm not just a pretty girl with a neckline.

Where is the promised land for a DJ, where is the biggest money earned? For me, Thailand comes first. I've been playing there for almost 6 years. Regularly in Bangkok and Koh Samui, where the local club is visited by thousands of people. Incredible atmosphere. But if we are talking about money, then Europe is certainly more promising.

Is it difficult to live with a famous person and then build your own career without seeing you as "here from Pomeo"? I had it even harder because I had such a big and strong personality next to me as Jirka was. The controversy that has been built there over the decades has spread to me and I have had to break prejudices at the beginning practically non-stop. It was one of the reasons why I started playing outside the Czech Republic. There I found out that no one knows who I am and evaluates only what I can do. There my self-confidence healed.

Do you still receive from people to "eat" what was happening around Jiří? At the time of the hysteria, I didn't express myself much. Jirka, on the other hand, was out of touch with reality and distorted the media. Then the disease came back to him and it was another difficult time when he couldn't defend himself in any way, because it would turn against me anyway. I had to wait, suffer and endure one of the biggest wrongs in my life for a long time. But all the time I have not met a single person who would come to me in the negative.

Let's take a more pleasant topic - have you fulfilled all your dreams or are there still some left? I have a bulletin board full of them. My motivational message board, I recommend everyone to create it at home and put it in the place where we spend the most time. Because that sight of those dreams will consume you so much that you will have to dig into them.

Where do you see yourself in five years? In five years, I think the time will come when I would probably like a second child. I hope to travel a lot around the world with gaming and be healthy.

What is most important to you in life is to have a healthy family. Have a healthy soul and body and be loved. That can then handle everything.
