A woman gives birth the way she lives. What would a good birth manual look like?

The narrative of childbirth is driven by the effort to understand what we have experienced and to obtain a frame of reference. What I experienced, what I went through, what happened to me: Is it normal? Usually we do not know in advance what a good birth is. We compare ourselves with other women and assess our birth experiences. But among the blind, there is a one-eyed king, and so it may happen that we will try to achieve artificial, unrealistic or even dangerous ideals. Or, conversely, that we will underestimate the problems.
