The entrance fee, including a tour of newly built or restored houses, starts at one hundred dollars. This suggests that it is a social event that belongs to the most famous events of modern architecture in California. Every year it is a picture of ideas and new requirements for modern living.

This year's June exhibition was attended by more than 350 exhibitors and at least a hundred experts during professional lectures. Surprisingly, the main topic was not smart technology or energy consumption requirements, but the installation of a safe room that guarantees survival in the event of a burglary or natural disaster. Therefore, there was enormous interest especially in the lesson entitled "Modern air raid shelter and why people invest in security rooms."

The exhibition area featured shipping containers converted into apartments or wine cellars, comfortable couches from Lovesac, bathtubs, sinks, faucets and showers in retro Lacava style or modern Viegener brand design including a long line of toilets.

The famous Japanese manufacturer Toto, on behalf of the American affiliate, offered them for up to 40 thousand crowns, but without installation. However, it will easily cost another 12 to 15 thousand.

Remotely thanks to wi-fi, the toilet can heat the seat, the bidet shower then washes the incriminated parts of the owner and dries the "jet" motors. Everything is rinsed away in seconds with minimal water consumption.

In the part of the exhibition dedicated to house construction, LivingHome showed a three-story house with three bedrooms and three bathrooms with an area of ​​169 m², a double garage of 30 m² and a private outdoor space of 35 m ².

He can build a building from prefabricated walls on pre-prepared foundations in less than 48 hours. The founder of the company, Steve Glenn, believes that compared to traditional construction, it offers a faster and more cost-effective solution. The houses he presented are manufactured in parts in a specialized PlantPrefab factory.

The price for the house, 7,300,000 crowns, will be further increased by transport, foundation construction and installation of water, waste, gas, electricity connections worth up to 3,700 000 crowns.

The mini house on wheels presented by The Tiny House Foundation was also interesting. In the statement, the authors mainly point to the dimensions: "While the standard size of a home in America is 223 square meters, we offer only a tenth of the area, which should be sufficient especially for students and young people."

The Cocoon company offered a different concept of luxury housing. It specializes in recreational facilities such as home gyms, offices, art studios and the like.

Their buildings are illuminated thanks to three-meter high glass walls. The company also uses various sophisticated and environmental ideas. They also include the folding Murphy Bed, which closes into the wall, thereby revealing other possibilities for using the space as a living room or study.

The Cardborigami Foundation showcased shelter designs involving local homeless children. They were actually cardboard boxes to sleep in, but designed in the style of Japanese paper folding accordions.

This year, the popular festival of ideas for more pleasant living showed the direction in which architecture in the city of Andělů is trying to get. It doesn't matter if it was paper box jigsaws or how to prevent the termites' insatiable appetite for eating fresh structures exposed according to local regulations made of fragrant wood.
