Lenka Vacková: Ironie on fashion - CzechDesign<

Lenka, you study the design of clothing and shoes at the Prague Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design, what did you do before and what did you lead to your current studies?

I graduated from Sušg in Jihlava, then I did not get to the Academy of Sciences, but I got to painting at the Academy of Arts, for which I am still grateful, because going to another studio was even easier. However, I went to Jiří Černický to the painting studio for two years, where it was great, but then it pulled me in a slightly different direction. But it was such a short circuit anyway, I needed some change.I don't even know how it occurred to me, I went directly to Liben Rochová and she allowed me an internship at her in the studio and it was.Well, then it was with me.

What did you find about the internship in the studio near Libena Rochová?

I don't even know why I thought to go there, but I stayed because there was total commitment, hard work, super team and leadership and work until the end.Creativity with craft and I liked it.

What gave you a two -year study of painting for the current field?Do you work with the knowledge of painting in what you do now, or did you start with a clean head?

It gave me so much. Prošla jsem skrz úplně jiné smýšflaxí o věcech, možná i víc konceptuální.I got a bigger outlook. Myšflaxka, kterou mám, je pro mě nejdůležitější.Then I am looking for the most suitable technique and the form I could express it.So it doesn't matter if it will be clothes, which I'm doing right now, but it doesn't have to be all the time.I can move over to the video creation over time.Or can I create something completely different.

Now that I look back, I find that when I was on painting in a freshman, I didn't really know which was beating because I got to high after high school, and I think that one is still enough out.So I was looking for and learning it gave me so much.Neither did it actually be different and I am really grateful for it.And then I was a complete ignorant for the second time at Liběna (and I still) because I could not sew at all, cuts, nothing. So I had to (and I have to) still catching up while running, but I enjoy it.Anyway, I think it can sometimes be seen that I am from elsewhere.Sometimes I get stuck in creating my own materials and prints, because it's very important to me and somehow forget that it is necessary to make it even.So then sometimes I have to catch up.

What topics are you interested in in the fashion industry?

Lenka Vacková: Ironie na módu - CZECHDESIGN

Teď mě nejvíc zajímá asi nějaká „zeflaxá linka“.Which is also enough “hot” topic lately, but I think it is definitely needed.Since I'm somehow disgusted with fashion now, I'm thinking about what to do next.I am currently interested in some form of recycling, up-cycling.Something I could stand up to commercial at least a little. Those constant trends, consumerism and especially how the fashion affects, but also on people who are an integral part of it.I think we are basically overwhelmed today with everything.

It must be quite a hard lot - the certain ambivaflaxce. On the one hand you move in the fashion industry where they are quantum, and on the other you are trying to make a certain comprehensive sustainability. Snažíš se tuto myšflaxku nějak propojit s tím, co v rámci školní praxe tvoříš?

Perhaps precisely because a person moves in a given environment, he sees even more problems.I have taken almost all my clothes for charity the day before yesterday.I couldn't watch it anymore what I have accumulated all the time. Now I am forbidden to expand the number of pieces. If I want something, another thing has to go and that something must of course be from a chisel or so -called.ethically pure thing.

I try to.That's why I came across a lot of comments that my work is not concerned with a given topic. But I no longer wanted to create some other things that I couldn't stand up to stand 100 %.I did what I am interested in at the price that it may not pass through the commission.Liběna is absolutely great in this. They seek to support each of us individually and to meet us despite the fact that it remains harsh.

The last of my work was supposed to be such a big irony on fashion. But for example, even in my bachelor thesis I have worked with the idea that one should have only a few - and all the better - things for a lifetime.

What was your last job?

On the one hand luxury, on the other a total misery. The aesthetics of the whole collection were then based on all known forms of counterfeits - various "Hike" and "Adibas".

For example, I used the cuts of IKEA bags for a large evening dress as a parody for those graduation cake robes. But it was in silk, again as a contrast.Cheap and expensive or kitsch. There was also a certain idea that man himself is basically a goods in that bag, or dress.

You are going to go to Denmark now, what are you going to do there?

I go there for half a year to work in the Fashion Studio Henrik Vibskov, so literally "to the world for a trained".

But you have already been to a study internship in Denmark, what was it then?

The first six months in Denmark was an experience in the field of Fashion Department. It worked out to me that I was all alone in the year, so I had it pretty free. This internship was great especially in the fact that I have been released a lot in the creation.I also really found out how the Czechs are underestimated, which everyone says. They presented and quite decent crap as if it were something groundbreaking.I think that is exactly this ability, but I personally do not know too much. Moreover, it is great that they have many support programs for the so -called.“Sustainable” - whether for fashion, architecture or anything else. And they also go mainly after quality.

Finally, tell me if there is someone in the fashion industry you consider an icon/pattern?

Mám hodně ráda práci Karolíny Juříkové, myslím si, že je to momentálně jeden z největších mladých taflaxtů u nás.Otherwise I like the philosophy of the Patagonia brand, although it is a bit of another keg.Of course I like what Vibskov does and undoubtedly the greatest influence on fashion development and Martin Margiela still has the greatest overlap.
