Police officers started trying on new clothes in the field - Deník.cz<

For traffic police officers, the change is visible mainly in the color of the T-shirt, which is white instead of the original blue. The off-road trousers, for example, have a pocket on the side, which earlier police "tesilka" did not have.

According to Central Bohemian police spokeswoman Štěpánka Zatloukalá, the police do not yet have the complete new equipment at their disposal, so they are testing part of it. According to the order of the Chief of Police, they can combine new and old parts according to certain rules.

New appearance of ranks

Some equipment components have been canceled completely. "For example, unpopular gray non-breathable pants or women's hats," police chief Tomáš Tuhý said today.

Police officers in the field will also receive, for example, jackets for winter and summer, reflective vests with pockets, thermal shirts, caps, bundo shirts, emergency overalls, gloves that cannot be pierced, and uniform sunglasses. The uniforms, which are dominated by dark blue to black, will also experience changes. They have a new red trim and are tailored. For example, some police spokesmen are already wearing these uniforms, the police chief tried on the ceremonial uniform during the recent visit of the Pope to the Vatican.

Part of the changes is the new form of ranks. For officer ranks, the current silver eight-pointed stars will replace the five-pointed gold stars. For lower ranks, these will be silver three-pointed stars. The inspiration for some parts of the new equipment was the clothing of police officers in Austria, Germany and the Netherlands. They should resemble suits from the period of the First Republic.

The biggest change in police uniforms took place at the beginning of the 1990s. At that time, the current police clothing replaced the original green uniforms, which were left to the police by the then National Security Corps.
