Employee in quarantine, wage compensation and sickness benefit

If you are an employee and have a quarantine ordered, in principle, the same applies to your employer for the first fortnight.The certificate of the quarantine order is issued by the physician and sends it to the employer and the relevant District Social Security Administration (DSSA).If quarantine lasted longer, you will receive doses of sickness benefits for each day in quarantine.

Employers may apply for a contribution from the State under the Antivirus Program.It works by the end of October, then it is to be replaced by Short time.

Antivirus program

The Antivirus program, which is to contribute to employers to maintain jobs, has extended the government to the end of October by the end of October.State allowance against layoffs works retroactively from 12.March, originally to last until the end of August.

The extension only applies to type A and B support.A -helps to companies with employees in quarantine and those who cannot assign people to people because they had to interrupt the operations from the authorities' decisions.The state will contribute 80 % of the paid wage compensation including levies, up to a maximum of CZK 39,000.The B's helps employers who interrupt the operation, for example, because of missing orders or material supplies.The amount of the contribution is 60 % of the paid wage compensation, a maximum of CZK 29,000.

Conversely, type C support, which is forgiveness of social insurance contributions for companies up to 50 employees for June, July and August, the government did not extend.

Since November, the so -called Short time could start, but politicians still match its form.

Short time

The Government at the end of September agreed on the rules of the so -called permanent coursearbeite.Companies will be able to send employees for part of the week in the case of economic problems, the state will contribute to their wages.

The Short time is to build on the temporary Antivirus program according to the government's plans since November.It is to be triggered by the government in a serious threat to the economy, typically (but not only) at the time of the pandemic, either for the whole economy or just for a particular region or industry.

If the government decided to have a serious threat, employees could stay at home one to four days a week, up to a year.The employer would continue to pay them normally for the days worked.During the days at home, they would receive 70 percent of net, counted from the average wage.

The new support should only apply to employees with an indefinite contract who has been operating in the company for at least three months.

For non -worked hours, the company would pay for employees for one hundred percent for health and 70 percent of gross wage with social insurance.

The government's proposal has a number of critics, MEPs want to change it.Prime Minister Andrej Babiš also acknowledged that the proposal failed.It is therefore likely that Parliament will not be able to approve it by the end of October.Then the previous Antivirus program would be extended.
