The shortened quarantine will mainly help parents of young children<

The ordered quarantine will be shortened from 14 days to seven days from Monday, October 25, after a risky contact with a positive person. It relieves mainly parents of small children who, due to the positivity in the team, have repeatedly remained in separation.

With effect from Monday, October 25, the ordered quarantine period will be reduced from 14 days to seven days. The condition for this will be a negative PCR test result. The change has already been approved by the government.

"From next week, the quarantine period will be reduced from 14 to seven days if it ends with a negative PCR test," said Minister of Health Adam Vojtěch [for YES] after yesterday's [20.10] meeting of the government.

Children also spend weeks in quarantine, parents deal with finances

After a shorter quarantine period, parents of young children called in. Under the current conditions, due to the positivity, only one pupil remains in the class with their child and two weeks in the home ward. However, they are no longer entitled to crisis nursing.

"I have two daughters, the seven-year-old has been quarantined twice since September because of a positive classmate. Well, and the older one, who is ten years old, is in the classroom at the moment now due to the proven positivity, "describes 35-year-old Jana from a small village in Kladno.

She adds that fortunately the covid-19 has never been proven to a younger daughter, and according to her, it looks similar to the older one.

"She hasn't been to the tests yet, but she's perfectly fine, I'm glad," he says, adding that, just like last year, he has to deal with absenteeism and a reduced monthly income.

Although she was entitled to nursing care under standard conditions for her younger daughter. Unfortunately, the office will reimburse her for only 60 percent of her daily earnings, for a maximum of nine days.

"And as you know, quarantine as well as isolation now, in contrast to neighboring countries, now lasts 14 days," he says.

Similarly, manager Markéta from Prague, who was excluded from the covid-19 infection at school, said: "I now have a daughter for online teaching / a classmate with a covid /, so unfortunately I can't handle a personal meeting."

Quarantine and 60% nursing for nine days

As of July this year, nursing homes are governed by general conditions when caring for a sick child or when a quarantine is ordered or a school is closed. These are regulated by the Health Insurance Act.

"This is an adjustment, which has always been the standard, only in the spring period 2020 [until 30 June 2020] and from autumn 2020 to 30 June 2021. with regard to the pandemic situation at the time, "confirms in its instructions the Czech Social Security Administration [CSSA], which is responsible for nursing care for children.

In other words, the crisis nursing care ended on the last of June 2021. Recall that during its validity, the daily assessment base increased from 60 to 80 percent throughout the quarantine, isolation or closure of school facilities. At present, however, different conditions no longer apply. Applicants must therefore take into account the general conditions in force before the onset of the pandemic.

By default, the parent receives nursing care for nine days

An employee who cares for a child under the age of 10 is entitled to childcare allowance. Even because of quarantine, isolation or a closed school or children's facility. This must be a sickly insured employee. The benefit shall be paid by the Office in the first nine calendar days. Exceptions are single people who receive the benefit for a maximum of 16 days, when caring for a child up to the age of 16. If they complete primary school.

The amount of the nursing allowance is calculated from the first calendar day of nursing and amounts to 60 percent of the reduced daily assessment basis per calendar day. And, as usual, a nursing certificate is issued by a doctor. The employee only passes it on to his employer, who points it to the social security administration.
