“I feel... Well, like after giving birth, I'm still tired, but otherwise everything is fine. I managed it, I had two certified obstetricians. Professor Calda and Doctor Cindra. And Josef was mainly present at the birth. So it was all good," Vendula Pizingerová described in a telephone interview for the Showtime program.

“I gave birth by cesarean section. When you've already had a few of them behind you, it's just that you have to, that you're meant for it. I gave birth for the first time at twenty-three, then at thirty-three. It's the same," says the director of the Kapka naděje endowment fund.

According to Pizingerová, the older a person is, the more they think about the fact that anything can happen to them during childbirth. "But that can actually happen at any time. I consider it a miracle that we have a healthy baby and that everything turned out well. I wish all mothers were the same," she says.

Her husband Josef was at the birth, for which Vendula Pizingerová is very happy. "When I looked at him, I saw his scattered eyes, he didn't even know what was waiting for him. But I'm happy that he was there with me," she praises herself and adds that at the moment she is already looking forward to going home, when her son Jakub will see little Josef in person for the first time.

“I don't think she can imagine having such a little brother. I have never seen my husband so tender in my life as when he saw his son for the first time," says Pizingerová, adding that, in her opinion, even women in their forties do not need to fear childbirth under certain conditions.

"A woman who was forty-one years old and had her first child was giving birth next to me in the U Apolináre maternity hospital. She thanked me very much that thanks to me she got courage in her pregnancy and it strengthened her a lot. Giving birth after forty is not so bad. Of course, provided that the person is fully healthy and can undergo such a thing as pregnancy and childbirth," he adds.

Vendula Pizingerová's second son, who was named after his father Josef, was born on Tuesday, October 13. The head of the Kapka naděje foundation had two children from her marriage to the composer Karel Svoboda. Daughter Klára died of cancer in August 2000, she was four years old. Son Jakub celebrated his 15th birthday this year.

They got together eight years ago with their current third husband Josef, whose mother is Vendula's best friend Simona, and got married in 2015.
